Why early, guided movement matters after an injury
The instinct after an injury is often to rest completely until it feels better. For most soft-tissue injuries, that’s not quite right — too much rest can let the area stiffen and weaken, which may slow the return to normal activity.
The better approach, in most cases, is guided movement: specific, appropriate exercise introduced at the right time, building load gradually rather than jumping back to full activity. What counts as "the right time" depends entirely on the injury, which is exactly why an assessment matters before starting any exercise plan.
This information is general — the right pace for your own injury depends on what’s actually going on, so an assessment makes the real difference, not a generic article.
