Why bookkeeping discipline matters more than the software you use
Most businesses don't lose track of their numbers because they picked the wrong software — they lose track because records get entered in batches, weeks after the fact, from memory and a pile of receipts.
The fix isn't a better app. It's a process: transactions get recorded close to when they happen, bank accounts get reconciled on a regular cadence, and someone looks at the result before it piles up. Once that habit is in place, almost any reasonable software works fine.
When we take over bookkeeping for a new client, the first few weeks are usually about building that rhythm — a short weekly or monthly routine that keeps the books current, so nothing has to be reconstructed later under pressure.
