A calm morning routine before school
Mornings tend to run smoother when as many decisions as possible are made the night before — clothes laid out, bags packed, anything needed for the day already by the door.
A consistent wake-up time, even on days without an early start, helps keep a child’s routine predictable rather than resetting every day. A calm adult tends to produce a calmer morning too — children pick up on rushed energy quickly.
None of this needs to be elaborate. A short, repeatable sequence a child can anticipate does more than any single morning trick.
